Beasts in the Wild – T-Shirt Contest (Ends 9/10/10)

We want to see that Beastware out in force this summer! So, we are going to have a little contest and the winner will get one of our new 3-headed beast shirts! Take a photo of you wearing a PIAB t-shirt out in the wild and post it in the comments section of this post (or a link to the picture) and the most outrageous response will get to sport a new T. We want some creativity and craziness from y’all, you’ve got till Friday, Sept 10, 2010 so get to work! If there are enough responses, we will consider some honorable mentions.

New Beastware

There’s more to come and we definitely want your ideas/photoshops, so add them to the comments. There will be a contest soon for those without the itchy trigger finger.

Oh and LA, Doc has a message for you:
“They still have not beaten our starting five. Our starting five against the Lakers starting five has a ring. Tell him don’t forget that. We will be back strong and Perk (Kendrick Perkins) will be there next year if there’s a game seven.”

The Sensei talks about Diesel

“I thought it was a great pickup for what we got him for, Shaq is a Hall of Famer. He can always help us. I think it was a great pickup. I am glad that he is on the team. We just got one goal, and that’s just trying to win the ring.”

Team president Danny Ainge said last week that Perkins would have to work to regain his starting spot in the lineup when he returned to full health. Perkins said he is not intimidated by that challenge.

“I don’t see it threatening me at all,” he said. “I gotta work hard. I know I gotta fight to get back to where I was. It’s no problem with me. Hard work is not a problem.”

“I’ve been doing a lot of rehabbing, make sure I get my work in every day. Make sure I keep my weight down, just taking it one day at a time. I’m walking without crutches, so that’s a plus. The swelling is my leg went down so everything’s coming around pretty quickly. Right now I can’t work out like I want to, I can’t hoop. But everything else is doing great.”

Speaking of the Big Leprechaun, here’s his latest with Rachel Ray:

The Scalabrine Connection

“He’s as unselfish of a player as I’ve ever coached. I want him around, I can tell you that,” Rivers said. “In a playing role, if not, in another role. I just think there’s certain people that you hold onto and he’s one of them. So we’re going to try to figure that out.”

WIth the roster as it stands, Scaly is on the outside looking in, which is a disappointing thought to the Beast Lair. The up and down 5 years of the Scal are not going to be forgotten. But I see a tremendous amount of wisdom in Doc’s words and I agree the C’s need to keep Scal in some role, even if its not on the active roster. The guy is a role model in and out of the gym for the younger players and would seem to be a whole lot more advantageous on the bench than Ty Lue. Honestly, would it be much different for Scaly, he was “suiting” up for the playoffs already.

The Diesel comes to Boston

On Perk:
“Perk is a very tough defender; probably one of the best big defenders in the
league,” O’Neal said. “It was only on-the-court-battles-slash-marketing. He’s a guy that’s not going to back down, I’m not going to back down. So I think if anything it was good for TV.

“Now, being on the same team, I will give him all the knowledge I have accumulated over the past 18 years. Have we had battles? Of course we have. Have we had good battles and bad battles? Of course we have, but that’s all over now because we’re teammates.”

On KG:
“We’ve had many battles, many conversations, many times we’ve hung out and now for me to be here protecting him and playing with him, I think that’s going to give him a little more room to operate. He can go inside and outside, but with me down there keeping all the big guys off him, I would like to see him get a little bit more loose. He has one [championship], he should have three, so hopefully we can get this one together.”

Mr. Thibs assesses the Shaq acquisition

“It’s a calculated risk. I think there are things he brings to the table. I think the big thing is with [Kendrick] Perkins being out until January, and you never know how long it will take when he does come back, Perkins is a very underrated player. I think he’s a huge key to the team defense. So I think what they’re doing is trying to protect themselves until Kendrick can come back.”

The Man with the Plan

Perk’s camp seems to be going well with Mr. Cassell taking the assistant role. Note the lack of crutches…

Rondo’s NBA 2k11 Shoot

Close up on the shirt:

Gotta love Rondo, he’s never lacked confidence! I think this has something to do with both of these players having a higher ranking in the game, but I have no clue really.
