A lack of basketball = Losing our minds?

No, we at the Beast Lair have always had a little bit of a screw loose.

No, we at the Beast Lair have always had a little bit of a screw loose.

“They ain’t done nothing.”
Rajon Rondo speaking his mind, and the truth, about Miami’s three stiffs.
“Things aren’t going to go each guy’s particular way. It’s going to be about how they handle it as gentlemen.”

The Celtics have made two very solid decisions in resigning both Nate Robinson and Marquise Daniels for the 2010-2011 season. Robinson, whose contract consists of 2 years for 9 million, will most likely fill in full time as the back up for Rondo, was very positive by the idea of staying in green. “Playing for the Celtics is definitely a blessing. It is awesome to be able to play for a team with great history behind it.”
Marquis Daniels, whose contract was just inked hours ago and details are not available yet, has not had a press confrense with the team, but days ago he was quoted saying “I’m just looking to go somewhere, where I can help out…If it’s starting, coming off the bench, I just want to go somewhere and help.”That is a real winning attitude that Marquis has right now, and I think it’s great for the C’s. Marquis got hurt last season and unfortunately we never really got to see him play, but let me reassure you, Marquis Daniels can play ball, and he will help the green win.

Congrats to Tony “Gucci” “The Quiet Assassin” Allen on getting a very nice pay-day in Memphis and joining a young team on the rise. The move brings him a lot closer to home, Oklahoma, which I think was a major precursor for TA. It’s been a love/hate relationship with Tony, always seeing his potential and not the man that is in front of us. Nonetheless, the final member of the 2004 Draft that really started to change expectations has moved on, good luck on Beale St Tony!
• If money were no object and you were given 3 choices of your future home (Cleveland, Chicago or Miami), would anyone honestly not choose South Beach? As much as one wants to besmirch a 25 year old for doing what anyone else in their right mind would do, I can not explain the backlash from those outside of Ohio.
• If Dan Gilbert wanted to show his “loyalty” to the city of Cleveland/state of Ohio, like his childish email tirade supposedly did, he should’ve traded WallyWorld back in the day and truly loaded up for a run. His miserable treatment of Mike Brown and subsequently Danny Ferry at the end of the season made it clear what kind of “loyal” guy he is.
• When did Joakim “Le Coq Sportif” Noah ever get in the conversation as anything but a role player? He had some nice moments in the playoffs, but he’s equal to a Big Baby not a Big Ticket. His shot is uglier than Ben Wallace’s, and that is impressive.
• Likeliness of CP3/Carmello/Player C doing the same crap next summer? 0%
• Kevin Durant continues to impress with his humbleness and overall beastly nature.
• The Drew Gooden signing absolutely has to be the most atrocious signing of this atrocious Free Agency. How on earth did he get that kind of money? Let alone Joe Johnson coming out as the highest paid FA in a class with Wade/LeBron/Pierce/Allen/Nowitski/Durant, I mean WTF?
• If people thought MJ’s speech at the Hall of Fame was narcissistic, what exactly was last night? Maybe someone should have cut LeBron in High School or motivated him in some manner, cause he could care less if he’s riding DWade’s coattails to a championship, “a ring’s a ring”. Ask Adam Morrison about his two rings or Darko about his.

You kind’ve had a feeling with Doc’s quotes on next year and I am really excited about the group we could potentially see. I’d prefer an aged Jermaine to Shaquille right now, especially if it only demands a small portion of the MLE vs all of it. Anyways, Ray’s back, Paul’s back (he never left) and KG is going to be in better shape. Perk’s going to take some patience, but when his time comes he’ll be ready. Rookies are looking intriguing and we haven’t even seen Avery yet (well I have and he’s a badass).
There arent enough four letter words to express the disappointment in the Beast lair today as our humble sensei is no longer available in the finals. Torn ACL and PCL Ligaments is the diagnosis.
“I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me,” Perkins said. “It’s an important game, it’s not about me. It’s about winning the title.”
“To tell you the truth, it’s kind of rough,” he said. “You almost think that everything could be over. Coach (Tom) Thibodeau’s going to Chicago, you hear rumors that Doc (Rivers) might retire, guys are coming to the ends of their contracts, so you just don’t know. This might be it.
“All I can do right now is sit on the bench and give support. ”
Perkins has not yet undergone an MRI on his knee, but Celtics coach Doc Rivers said initial tests on Perkins showed enough damage to keep Perkins out of tomorrow night’s game. Further tests could reveal an injury that would keep Perkins out for months. – Source
%@#*!
Anxiously awaiting the results of Perk’s MRI here at the Beast lair. He left without crutches last night, but updates have been less than positive.
Asked if he thought he would play in tomorrow’s deciding Game 7, he said, “I hope so, just keep treating it with ice, hope it doesn’t swell up too much, and just go from there.’’
