The little scamps, biting at the ankles of the bigger guys, trying to learn the ropes, always have a lot to say. Perk says this year’s rookie crop is pretty damn good so who are we to disagree. We sat down (almost) with the rookies and quizzed them a little, even if we thought Big Baby might beat us up at a couple questions. Enjoy part three of our film festival.
You all wouldn’t believe me if I told you, but the Crack Staff is getting a late start this morning because last night we spent a lovely evening chillin’ at the real Beast Lair with Perk and the lovely Vanity at their home. We broke bread, discussed all things Perk and basketball, and in general had a funkin’ great time with one of the all time coolest brothers on the planet.
We would like to thank Perk and Vanity for their hospitality and for giving us an evening to remember. Sorry readers, the whole evening was off the record. However I will pass along the following story:
On our way out of the house we stopped by Perk’s garage where we saw a huge cardboard cutout of Perk. We mentioned that it was pretty cool and Perk said, “you want that? I got lots of em.’” So within about one second Beef Stallone is carrying this huge cardboard Perk out of the garage. I stupidly ask if it’s life size– It’s not. It’s actually about six-feet-tall. However, the question gives Perk an idea. He tells Beef Stallone to hold the poster up about a foot and a half off the ground so that it is his exact height. He stands there and looks at it for a second before saying.
“Damn, that’s big. I must be scaring people sometime with that,” he says before adding. “Shoot, I’m scaring myself.”
Perk, you’re the best.
But don’t dismay campers. For you we got the Perk interview from media day. It’s about eight minutes long and a lot of fun. Enjoy. And there’s lots more on the way in the coming days.
This is Brian Scalabrine. He loves inspirational music like Metallica and Rage Against the Machine. He likes biking and chicken and pasta. He is one-quarter Italian and oh, by the way, don’t call him Veal.
One of many interviews we’ll be bringing you over the next few days. Stay tuned and enjoy.
No, it’s not big love. It’s just the right kind of love - organizational love. From Celtics.com:
Meanwhile, the blogosphere had a pretty strong presence in Waltham - representatives from fansite Celticsblog.com and the site known as “Perkisabeast.com” were both in the house, not to mention a few collegiate media outlets as well.
