I Guess We’re No Longer Worrying About Tampering…

Here is Jay-Z at the draft lottery last night representing the team he is a part-owner for.

And here he is at the Celtics/Cavs game Five sitting next to the Cavs bench.
Hmm…Didn’t Danny Ainge get fined for sitting next to Kevin Durant’s mother at the NCAA tournament last year?
Could it be that, once again, David Stern proves that he is incapable of running a clean league that holds everyone responsible for breaking the rules? I mean we’re not the only one noticing this. Check out Chad Ford’s article today.
“If I’m Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, I’m really sweating losing LeBron James in two years. Nets co-owner Jay-Z was at the draft lottery and Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant and Rudy Gay were absolutely mesmerized by the guy. We know LeBron is a big fan as well and if the Nets can get under the cap and use Jay-Z as a pitch man — he could very well become one of the most powerful owners in the league.”
Where’s the investigation Stern? Where is the fines? Where is the justice?

Resign, you jackass!

haha… definitely not an apples to apples comparison. One guy is “part owner” and the other guys is the decision maker for a franchise.

So it’s okay if Wyc Grousebeck and Lebron go clubbing? I don’t think I agree with your reasoning. Danny Ainge had no direct control over getting Kevin Durant. Jay Z can have a major influence on whether or not Lebron James comes to the Nets.

From Michael McCann from SportsLawBlog:
That’s a really interesting point about Jay-Z being right there. I think (though could be wrong) that for tampering to have occurred, there would have to have been a direct communication between the two of them about playing for the Nets. That said, you’d have to think would want to avoid having that event take place, if for no other reason than implication it sends.
