So Perk leads the league in technical fouls thus far and Doc is upset with him. Here’s the typical Glenn Rivers holier-than-though B.S.

“He has not listened to me so far,” Rivers said of Perkins. “He’s the one guy I think emotionally when he starts getting involved with other guys and getting techs, it affects his game. He has to be better at that. He still doesn’t understand that just because a guy is trash-talking to you, not talking to him is a sure strength more than responding. What do you need to respond for? Just play.”

Rivers agrees that Perkins plays something of an enforcer role, but “that’s not enforcing. That’s talking. I would rather have him on the floor than not. Let them do all the talking. We’ll do all the playing and that’s what we have to keep it at.”

Um, not so much Doc. You see, Rivers was a guard, a smooth, glide down the lane and pass off before the big guy gets you, type. That’s all good. However, one thing Rivers doesn’t understand is the rules of the paint, nor it seems does he understand the first rule of beasting. And that my friends is, as the great poet-philosopher his Kendrick of Perkins said, “Control the paint, get boards, block shots, just the paint is mine. That’s the way I got to be all game, every game.” Learn it Doc, it’s on the damn t-shirt.

Perk’s job is to be the guy who stops the bullshit once and for all. He’s not Garnett, who gets away with murder because of his talent and star power. Perk is the guy who makes sure that Garnett can act without fear of reprisal, because he will bust your ass if you even try to crack KG. Truth is, KG’s just crazy, he isn’t all that tough if you look at his history. But that’s Perk’s job and he does it well. So, it doesn’t really matter that he can get a little chippy, because he’s earned it. And, since Rivers always finds some crap to throw on the beast, might we add that it was Kendrick stepping in between Pierce and Zach “Two Ton Jelly Roll” Randolph. So, keep talking big man, just make sure you don’t get caught so much.
